“Mankind is used to work with wood for over centuries, that is why you feel easily connected to the material, it feels warm in your hands.”

Sonny Kuit

Within this podcast, we visited Sonny Kuit (23). He is a third generation carpenter within his family and the love for wood runs through his veins. He studied at the Hout- en Meubileringscollege in Amsterdam West. We visited him in his creative habitat in the North of Amsterdam. Sonny tells us everything about his passion wherein he is the best version of himself. He taps into his love for Amsterdam, the material wood he is working with and all the other interesting things about being a young carpenter.

He designs mostly for the new generations and wants to share his passion with and for everyone. In his eyes, his freedom is expressed in his creativity and he believes there will always be a future for his profession and his vision.

All images are shot on a Minox film. Therefore, we could shot him in the most unexpected moments, not knowing what would be on caught on camera. We believe that this captured his creative processes in the purest form.
